Blue Kangaroo is owner-operated. Our goal is to provide the highest quality products for your lifestyle and budget, and the most rewarding customer experience from your very first call through installation and support of your system.

For any system project, you will deal directly with Karl Fry and/or Jack Decloedt from start to finish. Our motivation is your complete satisfaction resulting in your referrals, so you can rely on our personal commitment and accountability. We personally manage all system evaluations, design, installation, and programming, and we will be your primary contact throughout the process.

Blue Kangaroo is not trying to be the largest company around, we are committed to being the best.

We will never leave your home without first having trained you on your home entertainment or lighting control system.

 
About the Owners

Blue Kangaroo, Inc. is the merger of Jack Decloedt and Karl Fry--two diverse people and backgrounds coming together into one very complementary partnership.

In their careers, Jack pursued engineering and business management and Karl pursued software, business process management, sales, and customer service management. Blue Kangaroo blends these skills into a focus on home theater, surround sound, whole-house music, lighting control, and home automation.

Jack was raised in Belgium and has done business in five languages. After launching a European division for an American high-tech company, Jack came in 1996 to the corporate headquarters in Colorado Springs where he ultimately rose to CEO. In pursuit of a better life balance, he moved to Naples in 2001 and soon recognized the opportunity to formally pursue his enduring passion for home technology. He got an insider's view working with a local high-end company.

Karl, a summa cum laude graduate in computer science and business, began as a management consultant for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture!), and got involved in design and programming of large-scale computer applications, having personally generated over a half million lines of code. Brought to Naples by Allen Systems Group (ASG Software) in 1995, his roles included pre-sales technical support, sales management, and international management of the Pacific Rim from Sydney Australia (hence the name “Blue Kangaroo.”)

For each of us, the decision to enter the home technology business was born of genuine passion and long-term interest in music, TV, movies, electronics, and ways to simplify control of complicated systems.

Commitment to Excellence

While there is significant overlap of skills, Jack has focused primarily on audio-video design and implementation and has pursued certification with the Home Acoustical Alliance (HAA) and Imaging Sciences Foundation (ISF) . These complementary audio and video skill sets combined with our specialized equipment qualify Blue Kangaroo to perform sophisticated professional calibration of home theater systems .

Karl focuses primarily on lighting control design and implementation and audio-video control system programming. Blue Kangaroo has earned the RadioRA Preferred Systems Provider certification and is a certified Homeworks Residential Interactive Systems (RIS) dealer . Karl is certified in several control system programming disciplines also.

Blue Kangaroo partners and employees regularly attend Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) and Electronic House Expo (EHX) tradeshows for product trainings, professional education, product updates, and vendor relationship development.
